چکیده

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) is currently defining a European standard for HIgh PERformance Radio LANs (HIPERLAN). To operate as wired LAN replacements, these systems will need to offer data rates as high as 20 Mb/s. To counteract the time dispersive nature of the indoor radio channel, adaptive equalisation is proposed at the receiver. In this paper a number of possible modulation and equalisation techniques are presented and, in particular, the BER performance of quasi-coherent GMSK detection is investigated. Important issues such as frame and symbol synchronisation, frequency offset correction and equaliser implementation are also addressed from a practical standpoint.

A Full-Duplex, Dual-Polarization 10Gbps Radio over Fiber system with wavelength reuse for upstream signal

This study presents a full-duplex Radio-over-Fiber (RoF) system providing the users' wireless access with a bit rate of 10 Gbps over 40 GHz radio carrier. This system can be used in a centralized radio access network (C-RAN) architecture because we provide a fully analog front haul link between central station and base station. We can consider it as infrastructure between remote radio heads (RR...

Turbo equalisation for the Enhanced GPRS system

The iterative receiver structures can often improve the performance with a reasonable level of complexity. In this paper, we study iterative equalisation technique, i.e., turbo equalisation (TE), which enables to improve the performance by signal processing means in the receiver – without altering any other part of the system. TE is based on the feedback information from the channel decoder int...

Performance Comparison of LDPC Codes using SRK Equalisation and OFDM Techniques for Broadband Fixed Wireless Access Systems

Broadband Fixed Wireless Access (BFWA) systems enable services such as high-speed data communication, high quality voice/video conferencing and high-speed Internet access in areas where a wired link is not possible. However, the BFWA channel is a slow fading channel having deep frequency selective fading caused by clusters of scatterers in the environment that introduce intersymbol interference...

Comparison of Psk and Dpsk Modulation in a Coded Ofdm System

AbsfrucfOrthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) [l] is often proposed for high data rate transmission over frequency-selective channels in order to simplify equalisation. In this paper 4and &PSK and DPSK with coherent and non-coherent demodulation are considered for performance comparison. A channel estimation and equalisation is necessary for coherent demodulation whereas this effort...

Low complexity concurrent constant modulus algorithm and soft decision directed scheme for blind equalisation - Vision, Image and Signal Processing, IEE Proceedings-

The recently introduced concurrent constant modulus algorithm (CMA) and decision-directed (DD) scheme provides a state-of-the-art low-complexity blind equalisation technique for high-order quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) channels. At a small cost of slightly more than doubling the complexity of the standard CMA blind equaliser, this concurrent CMA and DD blind equaliser achieves a dramati...
